Oregon invests $400m in Abacus partnership

The Oregon State Treasury has invested $400 million as part of an ongoing partnership with Abacus Capital Group.

Oregon committed $250 million to Oregon Investment Council Separate Account, an existing separate account between Oregon and Abacus that follows a core profile; and $150 million to Abacus Multi-Family Partners VI, the firm’s latest value-add multifamily fund launched in recent weeks. The latter commitment marked a first-time commitment to the value-add Abacus fund series for Oregon, a spokesperson for the pension fund confirmed in an email.

Abacus Multi-Family Partners VI will acquire properties with specific characteristics, such as relative affordability in markets and submarkets showing favorable multifamily trends. The investment vehicle has a fundraising target of $1.25 billion. A recent
