OP&F approves $80m commitment to Brookfield’s fourth infra fund

by Kali Persall

The $15.7 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) has approved an $80 million commitment to the Brookfield Infrastructure Fund IV, managed by Brookfield Asset Management, according to recently released meeting documents.

The pension fund was unavailable to comment on its investment efforts.

Brookfield’s fourth infrastructure fund is targeting a fundraise of $17 billion. It will invest in transportation, renewable power, utilities and data infrastructure assets across North America, Europe, South America and Asia Pacific.

In July, the New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYCRF) also invested $500 million in the infrastructure fund.

If it hits its fundraising target, Fund IV will be Brookfield’s largest infrastructure fund to date.
