OPDEnergy, a company specializing in the development, financing, construction and operation of renewable assets, has completed construction on its new photovoltaic solar plant in Alcalá de Guadaira, Spain.
OPDEnergy and European infrastructure fund Marguerite, have already invested more than €32 million ($36 million) in the project, with plans to make additional investments in the future.
The solar plant, known as Zafra, has an installed power of 50 megawatts, along with 135,090 PV modules and seven conversion centers, spanning 127 hectares (313 acres). The plant is expected to supply energy to 30,000 homes and prevent 40,000 tons of CO2 emissions in the environment each year.
