OMERS Infrastructure appoints former Ontario Teachers’ principal as associate director

by Kali Persall

OMERS Infrastructure Management has hired former Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan principal of infrastructure Anton Kobzev as an associate director in Toronto.

Kobzev worked for the Canadian pension fund for nearly seven years prior to OMERS, and he was responsible for asset management within a C$19 billion ($14 billion) portfolio.

Kobzev also led multiple due diligence teams on acquisitions as well as all valuation-related work, assessed and managed numerous acquisition processes across North and South America across multiple sectors (toll roads, airports, ports, water treatment, electricity transmission and distribution, renewable power generation), as well as business development in multiple countries, actively sourcing new potential opportunities outside the auction process.

Kobzev also worked at Merrill Lynch and TD Securities and was a co-founder and partner of ARTACO Canada.
