Ohio State Highway Patrol slates $10m for Harrison Street Core Property Fund

by Kali Persall

Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System has made a follow-on commitment to Harrison Street, a spokesperson for the pension fund confirmed in an email.

Ohio State Highway Patrol has invested an additional $10 million in the Harrison Street Core Property Fund, an open-end core real estate fund that focuses on stabilized properties in the healthcare, education and storage sectors.

The fund launched in 2011 and consists of roughly 70 percent healthcare, 20 percent student housing and 10 percent self-storage, according to a May meeting document from Kentucky Retirement Systems, a founding investor in the fund. Within healthcare, medical office and senior housing each comprise around 30 percent of the total portfolio.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said it initially committed $20 million to the vehicle three years ago.
