Ohio SERS hires investment consultant, commits $55m to real estate

The $12.7 billion School Employees Retirement System of Ohio has selected Wilshire as its new general investment consultant, according to recent meeting documents.

The pension fund issued an RFP in September as its current consultant, Summit Strategies Group, is reaching the end of its contract in June. Wilshire’s contract will begin July 1.

According to meeting documents, the pension fund selected Wilshire “due to its depth of internal resources, research capabilities, risk management focus, and staff experience and expertise.”

The other finalists were Pension Consulting Alliance, and Summit Strategies Group.
