Ohio P&F to commit up to $120m in primarily closed-end infrastructure funds in 2019

by Jody Barhanovich

The $14.7 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund has approved its 2019 Real Assets Investment Plan.

The 2019 real assets portfolio will look for new investment opportunities primarily in the infrastructure portion of the asset class. No new investments are expected in timber, while in agriculture, OP&F will pause investing in permanent crops and gradually add row crop exposure over the longer-term.

OP&F will target $120 million in closed-end funds in 2019. Approximately $175 million will be targeted to open-end commitments over the next several years.

OP&F’s real assets portfolio is currently valued at $379 million, or 2.5 percent of the total portfolio.

The long-term target allocation for real assets is 8 percent.
