Octopus Renewables exceeds target for renewables fund in IPO

Octopus Renewables has surpassed its £250 million ($328 million) target for its new renewables fund by £100 million ($131 million), after floating it on the London Stock Exchange in an initial public offering in November.

Through the infrastructure fund, Octopus plans to invest in a diversified range of renewable energy assets across continental Europe, Australia and the United Kingdom.

The Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust will invest in solar photovoltaic assets and onshore wind, as well as other renewable assets under operation or under construction. The company has already identified a pipeline of £2.8 billion ($3.6 billion) renewable energy assets.

According to Investment Trust Insider, after costs the company will have £343 million ($450 million) in net assets to the targeted investments.
