Octopus Real Estate adds senior fund manager to care home team

by Released

Octopus Real Estate, part of Octopus Group and a U.K. specialist real estate lender and investor, has appointed Michael Toft as senior fund manager in its care home fund management team.

Toft will become co-head of the Octopus Healthcare Fund, which continues to drive interest from institutional investors following its recent accreditation as an impact fund.

Toft has more than 20 years of real estate experience and joins from Lothbury Investment Management, where he spent over a decade as an executive director and senior fund manager, managing institutional real estate funds, implementing a growth strategy and expanding the flagship fund by more than threefold.

Octopus Real Estate’s care homes team currently manages a portfolio of 77 modern, purpose-built homes, including 13 properties under construction, with a market value of more than £900 million (€1 billion/$1.3 billion).
