Octopus Capital backs sustainable housing schemes in Essex, England

by Released

Octopus Capital will be backing one of the most ambitious sustainable housing schemes in England. The scheme brings together the strength of its real estate debt team, alongside the commitment to delivering high-quality sustainable homes of its affordable housing team.

Located in Epping Forest, Essex, England, the 113-home scheme known as Carpenters Yard is being led by award-winning, planet-positive housebuilder gs8. Octopus Capital is supporting gs8’s delivery of the scheme with a £20 million ($27 million) loan through its Greener Homes Alliance, launched in April this year. This marks Octopus Capital’s second strategic collaboration with Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency. The alliance encourages SME developers to build greener, more sustainable homes, by offering incentives that reduce financing costs for sustainable projects.
