Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS)’ portfolio generated a quarterly return of 6.9 percent relative to the policy benchmark return of 6 percent, placing the system in the top 4 percent best-performing pension plans.
The portfolio’s market value stood at $21.5 billion, up from $20.2 billion at the end of the first quarter. Energy, technology and real estate were the best-performing sectors, and commodities performed strongly during the second quarter.
On a trailing one-year basis, the portfolio generated a net return of 26.2 percent, matching the performance of the policy benchmark.
