Oaktree Capital Management, a Los Angeles–based global investment manager specializing in alternative investments, has launched the next real estate fund in its opportunities series, Oaktree Real Estate Opportunities Fund VIII, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts. A fundraising target was not disclosed in the filing.
Oaktree Real Estate Opportunities Fund VIII is an opportunistic fund that will invest in debt secured by properties.
The previous fund in the series, Oaktree Real Estate Opportunities Fund VII, held a $2.92 billion final close in 2016.
