The New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) has unveiled a $250 million commitment to infrastructure.
NYSCRF is investing $250 million in Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI IV), managed by Danish fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. Copenhagen Infrastructure IV will seek to invest in a diversified portfolio of renewable infrastructure assets, predominantly in developed countries.
The fund is targeting investments in renewables assets including on and off-shore wind, solar, pumped storage, and biomass generation.
CI IV completed a first closing in June 2020, with €1.5 billion ($1.69 billion) in capital commitments. Targeting €5.5 billion ($6.2 billion), CI IV is expected to become the largest fund globally within renewable energy infrastructure investments, according to CIP.
