NW1 Partners announces appointment of NYC principal

NW1 Partners, a niche-focused value-add real estate investment management firm, has appointed Jon Sandstrom as a principal.

Based in New York, Sandstrom will be responsible for sourcing and managing investment opportunities with emerging operating partners on behalf of NW1’s institutional limited partners. NW1’s strategy focuses on aggregating small to midsized assets in a particular sector, with an eye toward achieving a portfolio premium upon exit to an institutional buyer.

Prior to joining NW1, Sandstrom was an executive director, portfolio manager and real estate investment committee member in the portfolio solutions group and the alternative investment partners real estate team at Morgan Stanley. Over the nine-year period he worked for the bank, Sandstrom was involved in $1 billion of private real estate co-investments as well as secondary and primary fund investments operating out of New York and Hong Kong.
