South Korea’s National Pension Service (NPS), the world’s third-largest pension fund, is seeking a new CIO after the recent exit of the pension fund’s longest-serving CIO, Ahn Hyo-joon, on Oct. 18.
Park Seong-tae, a managing director with the fund’s investment strategy and responsible investment and governance, will serve as acting CIO until the pension fund can fill the role. It will start working to do so as early as November, according to multiple news sources.
Hyo-joon, who served as CIO at NPS for four years, was the pension fund’s longest-serving CIO. He took up the role in 2018 for a two-year term and served two consecutive one-year terms.
