Northern Trust has appointed Eric Freedman as CIO for the wealth management business.
Freedman will guide the private client investment practice — including more than 200 portfolio managers nationally — and the continued evolution of the firm’s investment platform and offerings. Freedman reports to Wealth Management President Jason Tyler, effective Dec. 2.
Freedman succeeds Katie Nixon, who had served as CIO since 2012. Nixon assumes leadership of the Northeast Region — one of Northern Trust’s strategically important and growth-intensive markets with a sophisticated and diverse client base. In this role, Nixon will continue to report to Tyler and join the regional leadership team alongside Michael Bracci (South), John Fumagalli (Central), and Abel Montañez (West).
