North Dakota SIB re-ups in I Squared Capital, Macquarie infra funds

The North Dakota State Investment Board (SIB) has approved two follow-on commitments to infrastructure funds, according to a recent investment report.

SIB will invest $150 million in I Squared Capital’s third global infrastructure fund (ISQ GIF III) and $65 million in Macquarie Infrastructure Partners’ fifth fund (MIP V).

The pension fund previously approved a $140 million commitment to ISQ GIF II in 2018. In addition, SIB previously committed $100 million to MIP V in 2020 and $140 million to MIP IV in 2018.

ISQ GIF III is primarily focused on middle-market investments in power generation, renewables and utilities, midstream energy, communications, water and transportation.
