Norges Bank Investment Management CEO to step down

by Kali Persall

Yngve Slyngstad, CEO of Norges Bank Investment Management, has announced plans to resign from his position.

Norges Bank Investment Management manages Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, which raised more than Kr. $10 trillion ($1 trillion) this month. The fund has been active for 12 years and has “achieved a strong position internationally and in Norway,” Slyngstad said in a statement.

Slyngstad will remain CEO until a replacement has been selected, at which time he will continue to work with the fund and contribute to further developing the investment strategy. He will be responsible for building up unlisted renewable energy infrastructure as a new investment area.
