NMERB’s total real estate portfolio performance ranks #1 for past 10 years

New Mexico Educational Retirement Board’s total real estate portfolio performance ranks number one for the past 10 years, according to the pension fund’s Investment Performance Analysis report for the period ended June 30, 2017. The ranking consists of U.S. public pension plans with more than $1 billion in assets.

Additionally, NMERB’s private real estate portfolio ranks number 1 for the past one, three and five years. As the private real estate portfolio was started nine years ago, there is currently no 10-year figure for private real estate. Therefore, the 10-year performance is given for the total portfolio.

NMERB’s private real estate portfolio consists of non-U.S. private real estate and U.S. private real estate.

The current market value of the private real estate portfolio is $543.3 million, or 4.3 percent of the portfolio, according to the document.
