Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) has signed a long-term power-purchase agreement (PPA) with the Clean Energy Infrastructure (CEI) business of Capital Dynamics for 280 megawatts of power generated by Gibson Solar, a greenfield solar project owned by CEI.
Gibson Solar is located on 2,400 acres in southern Indiana. It is one of two projects being developed by CEI in Gibson County.
NIPSCO has now announced a total of eight renewable energy projects, including a combination of similar PPAs and joint ventures, as part of a plan to ditch coal generation by 2028. The company expects to announce additional renewable projects in the coming months.
