NextEra Energy plans 3,000-acre solar energy project

NextEra Energy Resources has plans to build a 3,000-acre solar energy facility, the Sonoran Solar Project, in Buckeye, Ariz.

Project estimates include:

$600 million capital investment in the community $500,000 annual tax impact 260 megawatts of power generation and storage — one of the largest solar facilities in Arizona 500 construction workers over an 18-month period Approximately 15 full-time employees when operational

This will be the third facility built in Arizona by NextEra Energy Resources.
