New York State Teachers’ slates $150m for DigitalBridge Partners III

by Kali Persall

The New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) has plans to commit a total of $150 million to DigitalBridge Partners III, managed by DigitalBridge.

At its April 24 board meeting, the pension fund is allotting an allocation of up to $100 million to the fund and up to $50 million to the associated sidecar co-investment fund.

DBP III is seeking to raise $8 billion and will invest opportunistically in digital infrastructure, in sectors including communications, data centers and information technology.

As of June 30, 2024, NYSTRS managed $145.8 billion in net assets. In late 2024, the pension fund confirmed it plans to continue exploring infrastructure opportunities in addition to its current real estate portfolio in 2025. StepStone, NYSTRS’s consultant, advised NYSTRS to consider new research-focused potential acquisitions such as data centers.
