The $192 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund has committed $150 million to Landmark Real Estate Partners VIII, according to information posted on the website of state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
Landmark Real Estate Partners VIII is managed by Landmark Partners. The fund’s strategy is to invest in value-added real estate–related investments, primarily through secondary market transactions. The fund is seeking to raise $2 billion in total equity commitments.
The fund has also received commitments from the $14.4 billion Arkansas Teacher Retirement System and the $22 billion Nebraska Investment Council.
The fund’s predecessor, Landmark Real Estate Partners VII, had a $1.6 billion final close in 2015, exceeding its $1 billion target. The Landmark VII fund was a closed-end, value-added fund that focus
