New Jersey’s Police & Firemen System receives new CIO

The Police & Firemen’s Retirement System of New Jersey has appointed Russell Niemie as its new chief investment officer, IREI has learned.

According to his LinkedIn page, Niemie stepped into the role in October.

Niemie brings about 20 years of executive investment experience to the role, having worked with various pension funds and advisers alike.

Niemie kicked off his career in the 1990s as president and CIO of Commerce Capital Management and moved into the role of CIO of the Employees Retirement System of Texas after that.

More recently, Niemie has served as a managing partner at RMN Ventures, a company located in Palm Beach, Fla., since 2016. Previously, he was a vice chairman and partner at White Oak Global Advisors and was the CIO at NYSNA Pension Plan & Benefits Fund prior to that.
