New Harrison Street and Cortland JV to develop rental housing in U.K.

Harrison Street and Cortland have formed a joint venture with plans to develop a 367-unit build-to-rent residential property in Watford, United Kingdom, with backing from Homes England and AIG Asset Management.

The initial phase of the project, which will be known as Cortland Cassiobury, is scheduled to be completed by July 2021, with the remainder of the units to be delivered by March 2023.

Cortland Cassiobury will be the first development in a newly formed joint venture between Harrison Street and Cortland, which has secured an attractive pipeline of build-to-rent projects across the United Kingdom and Ireland representing a gross development value of approximately £750 million (€825 million/$959 million). The portfolio will be focused on high-quality assets with market-leading amenities, communal spaces and service options.
