New fund launches decrease in 2020

Geoffrey Dohrmann, president and CEO, publisher, and editor-in-chief at Institutional Real Estate, Inc., presents a video update and insights on fourth quarter 2020 capital fundraising data and trends.

The data summarizes closed-end funds currently seeking capital in the market and the volume of capital raised by funds that closed during the fourth quarter 2020, as well as capital raised during the 12-month period.

In 2020 there were 209 funds launched, a decrease compared with 2019, which had 245 funds launched. The peak year was 2007, which had 337.
