Housing association Network Homes and private developer Stanhope have signed a new joint venture to develop £2 billion ($2.76 billion)-worth of schemes over the next five years, according to Construction News.
The partnership plans to identify, develop and build out two major projects a year in London and the South-East.
The first scheme will be a £200 million ($276 million) regeneration of a former industrial estate in Southall, west London, which will have 550 homes built.
The scheme will use a combination of traditional build and modern methods of construction, with elements such as bathrooms, balconies and paneling factory-built before installation on site, reducing build time and cost.
The joint venture aims to submit a planning application for the project in spring, ahead of starting construction in early 2019 for a completion date of mid-2021.
