NBIM plans to sell $35b in oil and gas investments

by Andrea Waitrovich

Norges Bank Investment Management, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, has plans to sell  $35 billion of oil and gas stocks.

Oil and gas equities account for about 6 percent of the sovereign wealth fund’s benchmark index.

Norway’s Finance Ministry, which oversees the fund, said it would study the proposal. The government aims to conclude on this matter in the fall of 2018. The fund has already sold off most of its coal stocks, according to Bloomberg.
