Nautilus commissions water-cooled data center at Port of Stockton

Nautilus Data Technologies has commissioned its 7-megawatt facility located at the Port of Stockton in California — a tier-1 Homeland security port. Nautilus unveiled the news about its first floating data center on April 21.

Stockton1, which features 10,000 square feet of floor space, is situated on the deck of a barge on the San Joaquin River. The facility is connected to an 18-mile fiber ring that connects to a local carrier hotel.

In May 2020, Nautilus closed a $100 million multi-draw, senior-secured-debt facility with Orion Energy Partners, to finance the construction and subsequent expansion of Stockton1.
