MRP Realty, Asana Partners JV acquire HQ to convert into urban loft-style residential units

MRP Realty and Asana Partners have bought Duke Energy headquarters building at 526 S. Church Street in Charlotte, N.C.

When completed, the transformative, carbon-conscious redevelopment of the buildings will create a highly amenitized apartment community and vibrant retail destination for Uptown.

“In our analysis of the existing property, we immediately recognized both the opportunity and need to reactivate what had been an urban corporate campus to an asset that can act as a mixed-use amenity for the strong employment base in Uptown,” said Frederick Rothmeijer, founding principal of MRP’s development, construction management and asset management operations. “Just as in most other cities, those employees want to live and enjoy in a walkable distance from their work.”
