Moro Hub and Huawei to build monumental solar-powered data center in Dubai

Moro Hub, a subsidiary of the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) that is focused on digital and cloud services in the Middle East, has signed an agreement with Chinese telecom company Huawei to build a 100-megawatt solar-powered data center in Dubai, according to Data Center Dynamics.

The facility will be located in the 3,000-megawatt Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. It is expected to be the largest solar-powered Uptime Tier III-certified facility in the Middle East and Africa, according to Moro Hub.

“Moro Hub’s green data center will help customers in their sustainability initiatives to reduce their carbon emissions and become carbon neutral,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA.
