The Montana Board of Investments (MBOI) has committed €75 million ($83 million) to Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V), managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
The pension fund revealed the commitment in its Aug. 28 meeting notes.
CI V achieved a first close on its fifth flagship fund of more than €5.6 billion ($6.2 billion) in capital commitments and has a target fund size of €12 billion ($13.3 billion). The fund is set to become the largest fund globally dedicated to greenfield renewable-energy infrastructure investments.
Like its predecessors, CI V will focus on greenfield investments within large-scale renewable-energy infrastructure, with a focus on offshore and onshore wind, solar farms, grid and distribution, and storage. The fund has a global reach and intends to diversify investments across technologies in low-risk OECD countries in North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
