Mitsui & Co., JOIN consortium launch planned tender offer for infrastructure company in the Philippines

Mitsui & Co. and Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) have announced a planned tender offer to acquire shares in Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), an integrated infrastructure company in the Philippines.

Mit-Pacific Holdings, a consortium consisting of Mitsui and JOIN, will acquire a portion of MPIC shares to participate in the comprehensive infrastructure operation business in the Philippines.

MPIC operates a wide range of infrastructure businesses through its subsidiaries and affiliates, including toll roads, water supply and sewage service, railroads, and power distribution and generation, primarily in Metro Manila in the Philippines. The group also operates infrastructure businesses in the Southeast Asian region outside of the Philippines.
