Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, has acquired the 85.8-megawatt Rodene Wind Farm in Sweden, from RES. Financial terms were not disclosed.
This marks the third project RES has sold to Mirova and the first project in Sweden for Mirova-Eurofideme 4, which held a final close in November 2019 with €857 million ($938 million) in capital commitments.
The project consists of 13 turbines and will be capable of powering 40,000 homes in Sweden, saving some 230,000 tons of CO2 annually.
As part of the deal, RES has agreed to construct the project under an engineer, procure, construct (EPC) contract and will also provide asset management services for the wind farm once operational.
According to RES, construction is slated to begin in August and has been carefully planned so as not to interrupt the breeding season of the local osprey bird population.
Energization and handover of the project is planned for April 2022.
