Microsoft to invest in Indonesia

Indonesia President Joko Widodo said Microsoft Corp. has plans to invest in the country.

As reported on the Jakarta Post, this will happen “within a week” of the meeting between the Indonesian president and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella that took place in Jakarta Feb. 27. With more than 170 million Internet users in the country, the Indonesian government has prioritized the digital economy as an important sector for economic growth.

As such, the country has been courting foreign investors for a variety of digital infrastructure projects, reported Asean Briefing.
