Michael Hill has been appointed executive vice president and global head of infrastructure at OMERS Infrastructure, effective Sept. 5. Hill will be based in New York City and report to Ralph Berg, CIO.
Hill brings more than 30 years of broadly diversified, global investment experience to the leadership role at OMERS. He joins the firm from another Canadian pension plan, where he most recently served as the Americas head of sustainable energies, focused on direct private equity investments across the energy sector. Previously, Hill spent more than 25 years in investment banking, working across asset classes in various roles at Nomura Securities, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.
OMERS Infrastructure manages approximately C$34 billion ($26 billion) in assets. In his new role, Hill will oversee the firm’s global infrastructure investment and asset management programs.
