Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has said that its main airport, Mexico City International Airport (officially Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez), will be receiving a third terminal.
He said a military base would be turned into an airport and his administration would encourage more use of the airport in the city of Toluca, which lies about 63 kilometers (39 miles) west of Mexico City, according to news sources.
He also said that existing runways will be refurbished and the current facility will be modernized.
