Mendocino County Employees’ executive resigns

by Kali Persall

James Wilbanks, executive director of the Mendocino County (Calif.) Employees Retirement Association, located in Ukiah, has announced plans to resign from the position he has held for the past five years.

“I have enjoyed my time working in Mendocino County and very much appreciate the support and flexibility afforded me by the board,” he said in a January resignation letter addressed to Kathryn Cavness, chair of the board of retirement. “I reflect with pride on my time here and recognize the many opportunities and challenges we faced together and how much I have learned and grown professionally through the experiences.”

Wilbanks’ last day of employment with the association will be April 30.

Mendocino County has an 11 percent actual allocation to domestic real estate, meeting its target to the asset class.
