Massachusetts to hit 1.6GW offshore wind requirement

by Andrea Zander

The Baker-Polito (Mass.) Administration announced that Mayflower Wind was selected by the Commonwealth’s Electric Distribution Companies to move forward to contract negotiations to provide 804 megawatts of offshore wind to Massachusetts as part of the energy procurement authorized by An Act Relative to Energy Diversity, signed by Governor Baker in 2016.

It will bring the amount of offshore wind procured under this legislation to approximately 1.6 gigawatts.
