Manchester City Council plans acquisition of Wythenshawe shopping center

Manchester City Council is making a strategic acquisition in the heart of Wythenshawe town center that consolidates its wider land ownership to explore options around investment and regeneration.

The town center is the commercial center of the area and a vital resource for local people to access shops, leisure facilities and other amenities. Due diligence will be undertaken over the coming weeks with a view to the council completing the acquisition before the end of the summer.

In recent months, the council has been working on a long-term future vision for the potential regeneration of the town center that includes new homes, employment and cultural space alongside investment into the public realm.
