The $12.1 billion Maine Public Employees’ Retirement System has committed up to $50 million to KKR Real Estate Partners Europe.
The fund will follow a similar strategy to KKR’s Real Estate Partners Americas, which targeted property-level equity, debt, special situations transactions and business with significant real estate holdings, according to KKR’s website. The Americas fund closed in late 2013 after raising $1.5 billion.
Maine PERS was an investor in KKR’s Americas fund as well as KKR’s Global Infrastructure Investors II fund, which closed earlier this year with $3.1 billion in equity commitments.
