Macquarie’s GIG makes three new hires

Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has appointed three senior industry experts to lead key focus areas for the business.

Professor David Viner, coordinating lead author for the IPCC’s Working Group 2 Sixth Assessment Report and lead author on the IPCC’s Special Report on Climate Change and Land-use, has been appointed head of GIG’s green impact advisory team.

Viner brings more than 25 years of experience to the team, whose green impact assessment methodology provides a template for best practice green impact disclosure. The assessment is applied to all GIG investments and is now also available for use by third parties.

In addition, Chris Morrison joins GIG to lead GIG’s distributed energy and energy technology activities in Europe.
