Macquarie snaps up two logistics facilities in the Netherlands

by Kali Persall

Macquarie Asset Management has acquired two logistics facilities in the Netherlands on behalf of the Macquarie European Logistics Real Estate Fund.

Macquarie Asset Management has agreed to acquire the facility at Rotterdam Logistics Park from Delta Development and ELREP Asset Management, and the property in Lelystad from MG Real Estate in forward-purchase agreements following separate off-market processes.

Strategically located near the Port of Rotterdam, the RLP facility will have 47,000 square meters (505,903 square feet) of flexible floor space, following its expected completion in the fourth quarter of the year. The facility benefits from intermodal connections for national and international distribution through extensive sea and road links. The newly constructed 67,000-square-meter (721,182-square-foot) Lelystad property benefits from easy access to key transportation routes through the A6 highway and the CTU Flevokust barge terminal.
