Macquarie partners with ICP Education on social infrastructure project

by Kali Persall

Macquarie Asset Management has partnered with nursery school operator ICP Education to establish a £20 million ($26 million) portfolio of commercial ground leases in the United Kingdom.

The leases, pertaining to a portfolio of assets across England, will help ICP Education with its continued growth. The company currently provides daycare for nearly 7,000 children across 51 locations in England and Wales.

“As demand for services from our sector continues to grow, this agreement with Macquarie Asset Management comes at an important time,” said Stephen Booty, executive chair at ICP Education. “This agreement raises capital from our existing facilities so we can continue to grow and develop our award-winning services. At the same time, we have the confidence that we can continue to use the facilities to provide high-quality care to children for many years to come.”

The partnership was signed on behalf of one of Macquarie’s institutional clients.
