Macquarie launches seventh European infrastructure fund

by Kali Persall

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets has launched a new vehicle to invest in diversified infrastructure assets in Europe.

Like its predecessors in the fund series, Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7 (MEIF7) will seek to deploy capital into a long-term portfolio of diversified infrastructure assets, which aim to deliver sustainable, predictable and inflation-linked cash flows.

The fund will target a pipeline of European infrastructure assets that occupy a strategic competitive advantage in their respective sectors, including utilities, transportation, communications infrastructure and renewables.

Macquarie closed its previous fund in the series, MEIF6, with €6 billion ($6.8 billion) in June 2019, exceeding its initial target of €5 billion ($5.7 billion).

A fundraising target was not disclosed in the recent SEC
