The London Fund, a collaboration between Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) and London LGPS CIV, has agreed to co-invest alongside Macquarie Asset Management to acquire a significant minority stake in London-based VIRTUS, one of the fastest-growing hyperscale data center platforms in London. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Established in 2008, VIRTUS currently comprises 11 sites in and around London with a combined capacity of more than 100 megawatts. The business counts some of the world’s largest hyperscalers among its clients and aims to build more sites in the Greater London area in line with increasing data needs, while expanding its operations into Europe.
