Logistics specialist expands €300m investment program to the Netherlands

by Andrea Zander

European project developer and logistics specialist Verdion acquired its first asset in the Netherlands for €17 million ($18.5 million). The transaction is part of a €300 million ($325 million) investment program.

The 24,000-square-meter (258,000-square-foot) warehouse located in Roosendaal on the Dutch-Belgian border. Around 18,000 square meters (194,000 square feet) are leased to specialist logistics company Imperial Group.

For the €300 million ($325 million) investment program, which focuses on last-mile logistics in Northern Europe, Verdion had already completed €17 million ($18.5 million) in pre-financing for a major UPS project in Prague.

In the company’s first investment in the Czech Republic, Verdion built a 13,600-square-meter (146,000-square-foot) national headquarters and logistics center near the airport. UPS consolidated three fulfillment centers at the new location.  Other acquisitions include a 21,000-square-meter (226,000-square-foot)
