Life sciences real estate booms amid pandemic

Life sciences real estate has been strong throughout the pandemic, according to a report by Newmark Knight Frank, 2020 Life Sciences: National Overview and Top Market Clusters.

Strong performance, the lack of available lab product, and the anticipated future need for lab space in a post-COVID-19 economy will continue to drive capital market activity. In and around urban clusters, landlords and developers are beginning to consider “highest and best use,” particularly as certain office-using tenants reevaluate future expansion plans and rework existing footprints to expand square footage per employee.
