by Kali Persall

Leading Edge Data Centres has broken ground on a new colocation facility in New South Wales, Australia.

According to CRN, it is the company’s first facility of eight planned in the region, with additional locations to open across Victoria and Queensland in the coming years.

The A$20 million ($14 million) data center campus will house the rollout of 75-rack Edge Hubs, which also will be rolled out in the seven other NSW sites. Leading Edge Data Centres said it will also add the necessary network infrastructure to the area.

Electricity distributor Ausgrid is providing the land, access to the electrical network and fiber infrastructure at the facility.
