LACERA undertakes search for deputy CIO

by Kali Persall

The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) is seeking applications for the deputy CIO position.

LACERA is the largest county retirement system in the United States, with around $67.6 billion in assets under management and more than $2.4 billion in other post-employment benefit (OPEB) trust funds, as of Sept. 30.

The deputy CIO will help assist the CIO in the planning, organization and direction of all operations of LACERA’s investment division for the pension fund administration. The investment division manages the assets of both the defined benefit retirement plan and the OPEB trust. The pension fund invests in both real estate and infrastructure.

The pension fund is seeking candidates with five years of experience in leading, managing and mentoring a sizable team of professionals.
